2026 Âé¶¹Éç Two-Day Pawpaw Workshop
The 2026 Âé¶¹Éç Two-Day Pawpaw Workshop will be held September 16–17, 2026, at the Âé¶¹Éç Harold R. Benson Research and Demonstration Farm.
The workshop will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, with hands-on field demonstrations covering:
Bench grafting and bark inlay grafting
Pawpaw propagation and orchard establishment
Pawpaw fruit processing and value-added products
Âé¶¹Éç Pawpaw Program
The Pawpaw (Asimina triloba) fruit has both fresh market and processing appeal, with a tropical like flavor that resembles a combination of banana, mango, and pineapple. Âé¶¹Éç has the only full-time Pawpaw research program in the world as part of the Âé¶¹Éç Land Grant Program. Pawpaw research efforts are directed at improving propagation methods, developing orchard management recommendations, conducting regional variety trials, understanding fruit ripening and storage techniques, and germplasm collection and characterization of genetic diversity.
